The aim of permanent hair removal is the targeted thermal inactivation of the hair-forming germ cells in the hair follicle.
Controlled heating heats these structures to such an extent that they lose their ability to form new hair in the long term.
The energy should be limited as precisely as possible to the hair follicle in order to protect the surrounding tissue.
In this way, hair growth can be sustainably reduced.

Operating principle

The treatment is based on the selective release of energy into structures containing melanin.
The energy emitted is converted into heat in the hair follicle and targeted at the areas containing germ cells.

In permanent hair removal, different light and energy-based technologies are used, which differ significantly in their mode of action, penetration depth, and application flexibility. Established methods include classic IPL systems, lasers, and modern high-energy light technologies.
IPL systems work with a broad light spectrum and achieve their effect through selective heating of melanin-rich structures. They offer high surface output, but require precise adjustment of treatment parameters to balance efficacy and skin compatibility.
Lasers work with a defined wavelength and enable very targeted energy delivery to the hair follicle. They are characterised by high selectivity, but are often less flexible in adapting to different skin and hair types as well as treatment areas.

The treatment is carried out according to the indication and is individually adapted to skin type, hair density, hair colour, and the respective treatment area. For a sustainable reduction in hair growth, 6 to 10 treatments at intervals of approximately 6 to 8 weeks are generally required. This interval is based on the natural hair growth cycle, as only hair follicles in the active growth phase can be effectively treated.
Often, visible effects are noticeable after just the first treatment, such as slower hair regrowth as well as a reduction in hair density and thickness. As treatment progresses, there is increasing thermal inactivation of the hair-forming structures, leading to a clear and long-term reduction in hair growth.
Thanks to short treatment times and minimal skin irritation, applications are particularly comfortable and can be easily integrated into everyday life. The treatment is suitable for almost all body areas, including the face, legs, back, and intimate areas, and can be carried out quickly, safely, and effectively.
The application is suitable for all skin types from I to VI and – depending on individual circumstances – can also be used on tanned skin. To protect the skin optimally, intensive sun exposure should be avoided for approximately two weeks before and after the treatment.
